The HMS Wellington Immersive VR Experience tells the story of this important ship's history and its heroic actions during World War Two. Produced by IMITO in collaboration with The Wellington Trust, this thirty-minute experience places audiences at the heart of Operation Cycle; the daring evacuation of Allied forces from the beaches of northern France, following Dunkirk and just before the fall of France in 1940. Attendees will encounter key characters involved in the mission, handle and explore authentic weapons of the era, and discover more about the Wellington’s vital role in the Atlantic convoys throughout the remainder of the war. Crafted using Unreal Engine, and blending immersive storytelling with interactive VR elements, this high-tech experience offers a powerful journey into some of the most significant moments of the Second World War.

IMITO was founded by Jacob Dale and Mario Mokarram, combining a shared passion for immersive technology, storytelling, and innovation. Jacob Dale brings experience in large-scale immersive entertainment and operational management. His work focuses on making history and culture accessible through cutting-edge interactive experiences. Mario Mokarram has spent decades working at the forefront of game development and technology innovation. He served nearly ten years as a User Experience Manager at HP’s Texas headquarters, leading cross-functional teams to deliver transformative digital products. His background in game development, interactive design, and user experience drives IMITO’s commitment to creating high-quality, intuitive experiences.
Together, Jacob and Mario lead a small, agile team of experts in Unreal Engine, XR, and AI technologies. At IMITO, we specialise in building immersive, interactive worlds that bring the past to life, using the latest tools to tell timeless stories in new and exciting ways.
